YG Entertainment's executive producer Yang Hyun-suk has accepted a suspended prison sentence for allegedly obstructing the investigation into singer BI (formeriKON).
On the 18th, the Supreme Court's first division ruled that Yang Hyun-suk, who was brought to trial on charges of violating the law on aggravated punishment of certain crimes (threatening singer trainee Han Seo Hee and forcing her to meet with them),
The trial was held, and the court upheld the appeal court ruling, sentencing the defendant to six months in prison with one year of probation.
Yang Hyunsuk is a trainee who was arrested by police in August 2016 on drug charges.
After Han Seo Hee confessed to BI's alleged illegal drug purchases, he was put on trial for allegedly trying to bribe and threaten her in an attempt to bury the investigation.
In response to the allegations, Yang Hyun-suk has denied threatening Han Seo Hee, saying he has met her.
The first trial court found him not guilty due to insufficient evidence, but in the appeal trial, a preliminary indictment was added for the crime of coercing an interview, resulting in a guilty verdict.
Following the ruling, Yang Hyunsuk said in a press release, "I am disappointed with the Supreme Court's ruling, but I will accept it humbly."

The charges were changed to the unfamiliar charge of "requisite crime," and the Supreme Court handed down its final ruling after a lengthy legal wrangling lasting five years and eight months.
