TV Chosun's new weekend mini-series “Confidence Man KR” is a caper comedy drama about three talented con artists who take revenge on the villains of this era.
Park Min Young portrays Yoon Il-ran, the leader of the con artists, who possesses an IQ of 165 and a genius-level intellect in the top 1%. She skillfully embodies a character that seamlessly blends meticulousness and boldness, vitality and sensitivity.
In the first scene where Park Min Young reveals the charisma of the genius con artist leader, she captivates the audience. In the scene, Yoon Il-ran (Park Min Young) declares her resolve at a coin laundry. Sitting on a chair in front of the washing machine, Yoon Il-ran surveys her surroundings with a deadly gaze and a chic expression, hinting at the leader's pain with a tilted head. Additionally, she showcases the leader's authority by wearing a mini dress with a vibrant pattern and feminine silhouette, paired with a structured leather jacket, to emphasize her utmost beauty.
Park Min Young stated, “When I read the script, I felt that there was a reason why Il-ran had to become a sociopath.” She added, "When I work, my INTJ traits come out, and it seems that Yun Il-ran also exhibits INTJ traits. While she seems contrasting to Yun Iran, there are parts where she imagines each scenario and prepares plans B and C. I felt those points were similar. However, I wasn't as疯狂 as Iran."
She added, “I think a ‘Korean cape drama’ has been born, filled with themes that transcend borders and have many common denominators that everyone in the world can feel in their hearts. I hope many people will watch it.”
Meanwhile, “Confidence Man KR” will premiere simultaneously on Korean TV Chosun and Coupang Play at 9:10 PM on September 6th, and globally on Amazon Prime Video in 240 countries and regions.
