“Drunk Driving” Shin Hye Sun (SHINHWA), first appeal court hearing… “I’m sorry for disappointing so many people.”

The first appeal hearing will be held for Shin Hye-sung, a member of the group SHINHWA, who drove someone else's car while intoxicated and refused a police sobriety test.
On the 15th, the 3rd Criminal Division of the Seoul Eastern District Court ruled that the suspect, who was charged with refusing to take a breathalyzer test and illegally using a motor vehicle, violated the Road Traffic Act.
An appeal hearing will be held against Ng Hye-sung. This is the first time in about 11 months since the first instance verdict in April last year. In the first instance, the court sentenced Shin Hye Sun to six months in prison, suspended for one year. From then on, the prosecution
filed a petition dissatisfied with the first instance judgment. On the afternoon of October 10, 2022, Shin Hye Sun drank alcohol at a restaurant in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, and was driven away by a substitute driver.
I boarded a moving vehicle. Later, after the substitute driver got off at Suzyeong-gu, Seongnam City, he drove another person's car in an intoxicated state and drove to Tancheon 2 Bridge, Songpa-gu.
I drove about 10km. The police asked Shin Hye Sun to take a breathalyzer test, but he refused and arrested him red-handed around 11:40 a.m. on the 11th.
The police subsequently transferred Shin Hye Sun without custody in November 2022, and the prosecution handed Shin Hye Sun to trial in February last year.
The court stated, ``The refusal to take a breathalyzer test interfered with the test procedure, which is the core of dealing with Drunk Driving cases, and the crime itself is not light;
The fact that he has a history of being punished for driving is a bad factor in sentencing,'' but added, ``We took into consideration the fact that Shin Hye Sun has admitted all his mistakes and there was no harm to people or property.'' ”
