A man in his 30s was arrested by police for dressing up as a woman and yelling at random women on the Seoul subway while robbing them of their valuables. According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Subway Investigation Team on the 14th, the police announced that they had arrested him at 4 p.m. yesterday.
The man was arrested at Hoegi Station on suspicion of violating the Minor Crimes Punishment Act around 1:00 p.m. on the way. The man was taking the Line 2 from Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station and was driving a car on the Wangshi.
He is accused of taking the subway to Hoegi Station via Muni Station and yelling at a number of unspecified women, saying things like, "Just give me 1,000 won (about 114 yen)," and "I want to go home."
The man was also begging loudly on the subway on the 3rd line on the evening of the 11th, while targeting several passengers with threatening language and extorting money from them.
According to the video, a man wearing a long black skirt stood in front of a female passenger.
The man grabbed the bills and started yelling, then turned towards another passenger, muttering to himself and yelling at the same time.
Two complaints were filed with the Seoul Metropolitan Transportation Corporation's customer service center, and staff from nearby stations immediately mobilized to search the subway, but were unable to find the man.
