Seoul has 612,000 pet dogs... 17.5% of the nation

According to the Seoul Pet Smart Life Report recently released by the Seoul Digital Foundation, there were 612,000 pet dogs registered in Seoul as of March.
This is equivalent to 17.5% of all registered pet dogs nationwide. If you divide this number by the number of households in Seoul (4,099,000), you get 14.9%. This is the average of one household with one dog.
Assuming that 1 in 10 households have a pet dog, this means that more than 1 in 10 households have a pet dog. Among the 25 districts in Seoul, the district with the most pet dogs is Gangnam-gu.
In total, 39,792 cats are registered in the city. Meanwhile, the area with the fewest cats is Jung-gu with only 8,823 cats.
