According to police on the 11th, the Seoul Yongsan Police Station is investigating Suga's drinking history and the amount he drank.
BTS (Bulletproof Boys' Gang) SUGA, who is suspected of driving an electric scooter while intoxicated, will reportedly undergo additional investigation by the police.
On the 11th, according to police and other sources, the Seoul Yongsan Police Station plans to call SUGA to the police station in the near future in order to investigate the circumstances of his drinking and the amount of alcohol he consumed.
SUGA was found by the police on the night of the 6th when he collapsed after riding an electric scooter near his home in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. He smelled of alcohol, and as a result of a breathalyzer test, it was found that he was intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of 0.227%, far above the 0.08% standard for licence revocation.
The police, however, were unaware that SUGA was a member of BTS at the time and sent him home after only taking a breathalyzer test as he was in a drunken state, and did not specifically seize the electric scooter, which SUGA initially claimed was an 'electric kickboard'. Therefore, it is expected that SUGA will have to be summoned again to make additional statements, including the preparation of a statement.
The date of his appearance is subject to mutual coordination; the SUGA side also confirmed that they have not yet received a request from the police to appear before them.
The police have initiated administrative proceedings to revoke SUGA's licence. According to the Road Traffic Act and other laws, a person whose driving licence has been revoked must return his/her driving licence to the head of the municipal police force with jurisdiction over his/her place of residence within seven days of the occurrence of the reason.
SUGA is currently serving in the military as a community service member and is scheduled to be discharged in June 2025.
