Prior to this, in June 2022, the two schools partnered to build a joint campus.
In the process, the two schools have promoted the sharing of information and joint research, and established joint degrees. In addition, about 200 faculty members from both schools have cooperated in the research programs implemented in the process, and NYU has provided 1.8 billion won (about 1.5 billion yen) in funding.
The joint degree, which will be established as early as the end of 2025, will create a new degree for graduate students.
The new degree will be different from the previous multi-degree program. The costs of establishing the new degree will be shared between the two schools. In addition to selecting outstanding students, these students will be able to attend classes at NYU.
Since there are areas where T has strengths, a system for studying between the two countries is also planned. The new degree strengthens education and research in the field of AI, and aims to find AI talent that is in short supply worldwide.
The plan is for students to gain experience by participating in various research projects conducted by professors from both schools. The two schools will hold an international joint research project in 2023, with approximately 200 students participating in 12 fields.
This research has been promoted and active cooperation is expected.
