On life and death... Late actor Song Jae Lim: ”I want my funeral to be like a festival”... New light on his interviews

Actor Song Jae-rim passed away at the age of 39. While the sudden sad news adds to the disappointment, the story he confided in an interview two years ago about life and death is once again attracting the attention of netizens.

　In May 2022, Song Jae-rim said of his bucket list in an interview during a promotional campaign for the film Hello, "(It looks) how it is, but in my funeral hall (the mourners) will be given champagne to drink. I would be happy if it was a festive funeral", he revealed.

　As for who he thinks he will remember first before his death, he said, "It will still be my parents", "but I can't go first."

　Finally, he told the audience "We all work hard [in life]. Even in the moments when we are lying in bed and watching YouTube, we are all facing the passing of time and the hardships with one another, so I think it's okay to live a little slower."

　Song Jae-rim, whose exclusive contract with SARAM Entertainment expired last year, added to the disappointment when it was discovered that he had recently been in the process of deciding on a new entertainment agency to belong to. He was also preparing to release the film ‘Crash: The Man Whose Business Was Ruined’ and the drama ‘Blood Burning Love’.

　Meanwhile, Song Jae-rim was found dead at his home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, at around 12:30 pm the previous day. It is understood that a friend who had promised to have lunch that day visited Song Jae-rim's home, found the deceased and reported the incident to the police. A suicide note was also found at the scene.

　The deceased's mortuary has been prepared in Room 2, Qiba 2, St. Mary's Hospital, Yeouido, Seoul. The coffin will be unveiled at 12 noon tomorrow, 14th.
