The movie "Crash" is a crime TV series based on the true story of the cryptocurrency crash that shook the world with the disappearance of 50 trillion won (about 5 trillion yen).
Director Hyun Hyeri, who wrote and directed the script, won the Cannes TV Series Award for "The Woman Who Only Had Contract Worked Nine Times."
He is a former member of PD who has directed many current affairs educational programs that have been well received in social media. As is known, the film is about the "Lunacoin Crash" that caused a staggering 280,000 victims in Korea alone.
The film is based on a real incident called "The Incident." When director Hyun Hyeri first planned "The Incident," it was a six-part web TV series.
The concept was to depict the protagonist's failure in each episode in a black comedy tone.
But the deeper the interviews with real people, the heavier the story became, and the more urgent the need for structural change.
The case had to be reconstructed into a feature-length film. Based on thorough prior research and legal precedents, the incident was reconstructed through detailed review and legal advice.
Director Hyun Hyeri said, "Actor Song Jae Lim showed his professionalism by paying close attention to detail in portraying a character related to a real incident."
"The day before filming, I would carefully check the latest articles related to the incident and suggest things like, 'Another interview like this came up yesterday,' or 'Let's change this part in the script.'"
"The film "Crash", which depicts the Lunacoin crash that shook the whole world, will be released on January 15, 2025.
