<Interview> IRENE (Red Velvet), solo debut today (26th), ”I was able to find courage thanks to ReVeluv”

IRENE, a member of the Korean girl group "Red Velvet," will make her surprise solo debut with her first mini album "Like A Flower."

Q. It's been 10 years since your debut and you're releasing your first solo album. How do you feel about it? I completed this album after thinking deeply about what I wanted to say, so I'm really looking forward to it.
On the one hand, I feel like I want to do a little more, but I have done my best to prepare. Q. Your first mini album, "Like A
Please tell us what kind of album "Flower" is. As it is my first solo album, I wanted to show my diverse musical colors.

I think that being able to play "Pretty" officially makes this album even more special for me and for ReVeluv. Q.
Please also introduce the title song "Like A Flower". What are some points to look out for?
"Flower" is a pop dance song that conveys the message of blooming beautifully with a little courage, just like a flower with life force. The highlight of the song is the performance.
Please take a good look at the energy that I and the dancers create. Q. We tried out a lot of different genres for this album. What is your favorite song on this record?
My favorite song is "Summer Rain." I can't forget the pain I felt when I first heard it. ReVeluv and the others also
I hope you will give it lots of love. Q. You have a unique style through the album jacket and music video.
You also tried various outfits, but which was your favorite? Is there anything that stands out in your memory while filming? I liked the outfit that was shot by the water the most, and the moment I entered the water was the most memorable.
I have. I had to do it all by myself, so it took a lot more courage, and it was the moment when I had to have the strongest feeling of "Let's give it a try!" Q.
When it comes to IRENE, performance is an essential part. What did you pay the most attention to while preparing the performance for this album?
I was most concerned about my chemistry with the dancers. They helped me to perfect my performance.
Although we are all different people, I wanted to create a sense of teamwork where we have the same emotions, energy, and ideas and we empower each other. Q.
I'm also curious about how the members of Red Velvet supported you while you were preparing for your solo debut.
Most of the members have been doing solo activities for a while now, so they were the ones who sympathized with me the most and understood my worries. Thank you so much.
I was really impressed by how the members managed their solo activities. Q. What are your plans for this album and what are the goals you want to achieve?
First of all, it's to finish the music show safely. And rather than having a specific goal, I just want to use whatever I have brought to help ReVeluv survive someday.
I just want it to be something that people can take out and watch once. Q. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Red Velvet's debut, and they're releasing their first solo album.
What kind of year will 2024 be for you? I think 2024 will be a very important year. As a group, as a solo artist, and as an individual, it will be a memorable year.
