The late actress Kim Su Mi received the Special Achievement Award at the 2024 Seoul International Film Awards. The 2024 Seoul International Film Awards took place on the afternoon of the 5th at Seogon-gu, Jung-gu, Seoul.
The event was held at the KRYSTAL Ballroom on the second floor of Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul. Entertainers Cho Woo-jung and Jung Daeun hosted the event.
On the same day, the late Kim Su Mi was given a special achievement award, and her son's wife, actress Seo
HyoRim accepted the award on her behalf. Seo HyoRim said, "I am the wife of the late Kim Su Mi, who has now become a star in heaven forever. I am grateful to all the people involved for giving this award to my mother."
"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the staff and people involved who have worked with my mother on films and TV shows," he said, "I may be a little eccentric, but sometimes I think I'm a bit nasty."
"My mother was a very down-to-earth person, but she shared her joys and sorrows with the public for a long time and shared a lot of affection with them, and she was always very proud of her job as an actress," he added.
He also said, "I hope that everyone will forever remember my mother's passion as an actress and the beautiful interest she showed."
Meanwhile, the awards ceremony started in 2012 as the "Night of Stars - Korea Top Star Awards" and was called the "Korea Best Star Awards" until recently.
The awards ceremony, which has been held for 11 years, was renamed the Seoul International Film Awards this year with funding from the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
