Mayor Hong said on Facebook on the same day, "During last year's presidential election, I asked Gallup Korea to remove my name from their list.
"When I was the head of the Liberty Korea Party, Gallup Korea was the only one that released harsh opinion poll results against us," he said.
"We protested to Gallup Korea, but received a response that they had no connection to Gallup Korea," Mayor Hong said. "Since then, we have used Gallup Korea in all our investigations," he added.
"I decided not to trust Gallup Korea and even ordered that they be removed from the party's opinion polls," he added. Mayor Hong said, "Opinion polls are conducted based on how the polling agencies choose to answer questions.
"The indicators could change depending on how they are designed," he said, emphasizing that "if it is not a fair opinion poll, public opinion will be distorted."
