「次期大統領にふさわしい指導者」に…李在明氏が「首位」=韓国
”Leader worthy of becoming the next president”... Lee Jae Myung is ”top of the list” = South Korea
The results of a public opinion poll announced on the 14th showed that Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, was ranked first among the political leaders most suitable to be the next president.
The Korean polling organization "Gallup Korea" conducted a survey of 1,004 voters aged 18 and over from the 11th to the 13th of this month asking "Who is the politician who will lead our country in the future?"
In response to the question, "Who do you think is suitable to be a leader and future president?", Lee came in first with 34%. In second place was Kim Moon-soo, Minister of Employment and Labor, with 12%.
Next were Han Dong-hoon, former chairman of the ruling party People Power Party, Daegu Mayor Hong Jun-pyo, and Seoul Mayor Oh Sehun.
Meanwhile, the approval ratings for political parties were 39% for the ruling People's Power Party, 38% for the Democratic Party of Korea, 4% for the Fatherland Reform Party, and 2% for the New Reform Party. Other political parties and organizations were 1% each, and independents were 1%.
The poll showed that the approval rating of the Democratic Party of Korea reached a new high since the current administration was launched in the middle of last month, after the impeachment bill against President Yoon Seok-yeol was passed.
"The gap between the two parties had been widening significantly, but this year the two parties are locked in a close race, just like they were in the general elections for the National Assembly and the presidential elections."
