Asiana: 5 million won turned into 1.5 million won, business class fare entry error - Korea
Asiana Airlines mistakenly sold business class tickets for a route to London in the UK at economy class fare and then provided refunds.
According to the aviation industry on the 17th, Asiana Airlines had a business class flight from Incheon, Korea to London on the 7th of this month.
During the sale of special fare tickets, a mistake was made in which the fare was entered as "Special Economy Class Fare." As a result, one ticket worth approximately 5 million won (approximately 550,000 yen) was sold.
The tickets were sold for 500,000 to 1.7 million won (approximately 160,000 to 190,000 yen). Asiana Airlines confirmed the incorrect fare input while conducting an internal review and apologized to passengers who purchased tickets at the incorrect price.
We have provided refunds above. Also, if passengers wish to fly in business class, we will recalculate the correct fare and charge them. If passengers do not agree to this or do not wish to fly, they will be charged free of charge.
The tickets sold at the incorrect price were available from April this year onwards, and it is said that no tickets have actually been used.
Asiana Airlines commented, "We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the price input error. We will do our best to prevent this from happening again."
