Rep. Park, who claimed that ”President Yoon is monopolizing the space used by 32 people in the detention center,” says the Ministry of Justice that this is ”not true” - South Korea

The Ministry of Justice on the 26th refuted claims that South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol is occupying four six-person rooms at Seoul Detention Centre, saying this is not true.
Rep. Park Eun Jung of the Fatherland Reform Party said at a plenary session of the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee, "Yoon Seok-yeol is alone in a room that is designed to accommodate six people, but the Seoul Detention Center is too crowded for the defendants.
"Three additional rooms have been freed up for this purpose," he said, adding, "A separate partition has been installed in the defendant's detention area, and construction of a separate entrance and exit for boarding vehicles has even been completed."
Rep. Park speculated that one of the four rooms is used by President Yoon, two by security guards, and the remaining one by prison guards, and wrote, "President Yoon's detention center
Park also pointed out that the occupancy rate of the Seoul Detention Center has reached 152%, making it an "overcrowded" state, and said, "Eight regular inmates at the Seoul Detention Center will share one room.
"Meanwhile, President Yoon is using four rooms by himself. Defendant Yoon is effectively monopolizing the detention room that should be used by 32 people," he said.
In response, Acting Minister of Justice Kim Seok-woo said, "Four detention rooms will be set up.
"There may be a misunderstanding that President Yoon uses the room alone, but this is not true," he countered, explaining, "President Yoon lives alone in a 12.32 square meter room."
In response to Park's point that "security guards are coming in and out of the detention room," Acting Director Kim said, "They only come in exceptional cases when attending outside events or when being escorted.
"I will not enter or leave unless it is a good time," he said.
