On the 6th (local time), Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko expressed his opposition to the US government's cryptocurrency reserve plan through a post on X.
"The most favorable option would be to create a nation-state cryptocurrency," Yakovenko said.
"The answer is not to operate a reserve fund," he said, pointing out that if the government gets involved, there is a high risk that decentralization will collapse.
Yakovenko's second preferred option would be for individual states to run their own crypto reserves.
Yakovenko explained that a third option for cryptocurrencies included in the national reserve is to hedge against the mistakes of the national reserve.
He suggested that clear and objective criteria be established. He said that if such criteria were established, only Bitcoin would be able to meet the requirements at present, but this is not logically justifiable.
"If certain standards are set, the Solana Ecosystem will work to meet those requirements," he added.
Yakovenko's comments come in response to recent reports citing anonymous sources, who further suggested that XRP would be included in the tokens included in the national stockpile.
To justify the move, they claim that Ripple lobbied for Solana to be included in President Trump's cryptocurrency reserve.
However, Yakovenko strongly denied these allegations. He posted on social media: “Solana
What exactly is a representative? It's the same as the word Bitcoin representative. No one asked me my opinion, and I'm not a Trump cryptocurrency.
"We did not lobby for the inclusion of SOL in the currency reserve," he emphasized.
Charles Hoskinson also revealed that he was unaware that Kardano (ADA) would be included in the national cryptocurrency reserve until President Trump's announcement.
In a video released on the 5th, Hoskinson said, "We received no prior notice that ADA would be included in the reserve," and that the Caluda delegation will not be attending the upcoming White House.
He was reportedly not invited to the IT House cryptocurrency conference.
