Taking these circumstances into consideration, if the date of the verdict is not announced by the end of business hours on the 26th, the earliest the verdict in Yoon's impeachment trial will be announced is next week.
On the 27th, the Constitutional Court is scheduled to announce its rulings on general cases, including constitutional petitions, which it has held on the fourth Thursday of every month.
The court said it would set the date for the general sentencing as the 27th. Considering that it is extremely rare for the Constitutional Court to issue a ruling on two consecutive days, it appears unlikely that the ruling will be made on the 28th.
The deliberation period following the conclusion of oral arguments in this presidential impeachment trial is unusually long. In the case of former President Roh Moo-hyun in 2004, it took 14 days from the conclusion of oral arguments until the sentence was handed down, and in the case of the former President Roh Moo-hyun in 2017,
The ruling took nearly double the time it took former President Park Geun-hye 11 days to reach a decision. As for the reason for the delay, the judges disagreed over the details of the case.
