The movie 7 O'Clock Breakfast Meeting for the Heartbroken is an adaptation of Baek Young Ok's novel of the same title published in 2012. It tells the story of Sagang (Suzi) and Jiheun (Lee Jin Wook), who exchange their own “mementos of lost love” at a breakfast meeting where they gather for their own reasons, and deal with their own breakup and heartbreak while sharing their circumstances and pain with each other.
Suzi, who took on the role of Sagan in the play, showed a deep performance as she delicately portrayed her love and breakup with airline captain Jong-su (Yoo Ji-tae). Suzi said, “I was happy to be on set with a good director and actors. I remember reading the original novel with great interest, and it was a strange feeling to be able to witness the process of making it into a movie. I hope that the audience will feel the same warmth and comfort from this film as I did when I played the role of Sagan."
Lee Jin Wook, who played the role of consultant lecturer Ji-hoon, then gave a weighty and profound performance about the realistic love and parting of Hyun-jung (Geum Se-rok) and long-time lovers through a long love affair. Lee Jin Wook said, “I was happy to finish filming successfully, but I was also very sad to say goodbye. I was able to perform with good actors, and I felt good and energetic throughout the filming. I tried my best to express the various emotions of parting as Ji-hoon, and I hope that the audience will feel warm sympathy and comfort when they see the film."
Director Lim Seong Ae also commented, “Thanks to the efforts and concerns of the good staff and actors, we were able to successfully complete the filming. We will work hard through the second half of the film so that it will be a good film for the audience who is waiting for it."
The second half of 7 O'Clock Breakfast Meeting for the Heartbroken will begin work for a winter release in the second half of this year.
