On the morning of the 11th, at a cafe in Palpan-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul
In a round-robin interview, Ji Chang Wook, who appeared in the Disney+ original TV series "Fabricated City," recalled his memories of filming.
Ji Chang Wook will be appearing alongside Do Kyung Soo (EXO), who plays the role of Yohan.
What were your thoughts when you heard you were cast in the film "DO"?
"I was very happy. I thought that his charm really suited the character of Yohan, and I was able to express the unique Yohan charm of Do Kyungsoo.
I was hoping that a new Han would be born." He added, "I wanted to shoot more scenes together, but unfortunately there were few scenes where we appeared together. There were also many scenes that were shot separately.
I wish there had been more opportunities to act face-to-face, but I was very happy when I saw the finished product."
Continuing on, regarding his impression of Do Kyung-soo's acting, he said, "Yohan is a villain, but there is a purity in his face.
And at the same time, there is a sense of insanity. When I applied that to Johan, I thought he could be a character who didn't just appear as a "villain."
I was thinking about how creepy and mysterious he should be from Tae-jun's perspective, but I felt that the color that Do Kyung-soo has as an actor would be fully utilized in the drama."
Regarding his co-starring role with Lee Gwangsoo, he said, "On the first day of filming with Gwangsoo hyung, I was really curious to see him on the monitor. I was looking out the window from the top of the tower and thought, 'Wow...'"
It was a scene where he was making a move on me, and at that moment I felt like I had found a strong ally, a reliable team member. He may seem annoying in the film, but in reality he is the kindest of all,
"He's someone who chooses his words very carefully, which is what makes him so cute," she said with a smile. "I really relied on him a lot. Even when I was harsh and complained, he always accepted it and made me laugh.
He was a friend who gave me great support. I am very grateful to him," he said, showing his deep trust. He also continued to praise Yang Dong Geun. "It was my first time working with Yang Dong Geun, and I was really impressed by the way he played.
The character Yeo Deok-soo was really interesting. His appearance was so shocking that there were moments when he looked like he wasn't even human on screen.
"I had high expectations for it," he recalled. He said that the final prison action scene, which took five days to shoot, was particularly memorable.
"It was really tough for everyone. When I saw it on TV, I felt like, 'It's over in a flash,' but on the other hand, I was also happy.
I felt a great sense of accomplishment. I had mixed emotions. The day after filming, I attended the Busan International Film Festival, but filming was so tough that I caught a bad cold afterwards."
He also had kind words for Kim Dong-soo and Jo Yoon-soo, who appear as Tae-jun's companions.
"Kim Dong-soo senior is half-jokingly and half-seriously called me 'my spiritual pillar'.
As I said, it was a great emotional support. I think the support I received really helped me. Even though she is a rookie, Yun-soo is very hardworking, and just her appearance on set brightens the atmosphere.
It was fun to watch the process of him exploring the role." (Continued from Interview (3))
