Actor Kim Soo Hyun accuses Kim Sae Ron's family of releasing ”embarrassing” photos

Actor Kim Soo Hyun eventually drew the sword of legal action. He made this decision after repeated revelations about his private life.

The legal representative filed charges against the operator of the Garosero Institute, and an acquaintance who claimed to be the aunt of the late Kim Sae-ron, for violation of the Special Law on Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (distribution of photographed material using cameras, etc.) and other charges.

The legal representative stated, "The photos of Kim Soo Hyun posted on her YouTube channel by the Garosero Institute were taken when Kim Soo Hyun and the late Kim Sae Ron, who was an adult, were in a relationship, and they are photos of his body that could induce sexual shame for Kim Soo Hyun, and they should not be publicly. Garosero Institute is threatening Kim Soo Hyun that they will continue to publish such photos in the future,’ thery said, explaining the reason for the legal action.

Earlier, the Garosero Institute claimed that the late Kim Sae-ron had been in a relationship with Kim Soo Hyun since she was a minor, and released a number of photos containing evidence of this and her private life. In response, Kim Soo Hyun's agency said it was a "false fact" and suggested legal action, but the Garosero Institute released a series of photos and Kim Soo Hyun's letters, and Kim Soo Hyun's side eventually launched a legal action.

On behalf of the family of the late Kim Sae-ron, lawyer Poo Ji Suk, the Garosero Institute and Kwon Young Chan, director of the Korean Celebrity Suicide Prevention Association, filed a complaint against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, who handled the deceased's footage on numerous occasions. At a press conference held prior to the filing of the complaint, they said they planned to file a complaint against Kim Soo Hyun's side as well. The two sides will continue to fight through legal action following the revelations about their private lives.

In the meantime, Kim Soo Hyun's film Disney+ ‘Knock Off’ has been put on hold pending its release, while Jo Malone, PRADA, Dinto and others have decided to cancel their advertising modelling contracts.
