The virtual group "PLAVE"'s Japanese debut single has become the first Japanese song to be inducted into Melon's "Hall of Fame."
On the 16th, PLAVE's first digital single "Hide and Seek" was released in Japan.
The album has made a great start with an unprecedented 2.7 million streams in just 24 hours. In particular, the album has surpassed all of the music released on Melon, Korea's major music platform.
Furthermore, it was the first Japanese release to be inducted into the "Hall of Fame" (a title given to albums that exceed 1 million streams within 24 hours of release), proving its overwhelming popularity and hot topicality.
This album contains three songs. The title song "Hide and Seek" is PLAVE's first original Japanese song, and it reinterprets the band sound of PLAVE in a Japanese style.
Members YEJUN, NOAH, and EUNHO composed the music, while BAMBY and HAMIN directed the choreography, once again showing off their image as "idols who produce their own music."
The remaining two songs on the record are "RIZZ - Japanese Ver." and "Chroma Drift - Japanese Ver."
Ver." are existing songs newly recorded with Japanese lyrics. The feel, rhythm, and emotional lines of the lyrics of both songs are naturally matched to the Japanese sensibility.
The music video for the title song, released on the evening of the 16th, features the main character, "PLAVE."
The film has been drawing attention for its subtle portrayal of the shining moments of youth that the members spent together, as well as the differences between them. The five members spend their youth together, but an unexpected event leads them to walk their own paths.
The state of affairs is beautifully depicted with cinematic visuals that move between fantasy and everyday life. The 5 members of the music video search for "ourselves in our shining memories" as if playing "hide and seek".
The figures of people blended perfectly with the lyrical sound of the band, evoking a subtle sentimentality. In particular, the detailed backgrounds and sensual production of Japanese summer scenery, trains, tunnels, laundromats, etc.
The members' teenage style exudes the youthfulness of youth, providing a high level of immersion and excitement.
"PLAVE" will be held for three days from August 15th to 17th at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park.
Starting with their Seoul concert in , they will embark on their first Asian tour in two years since their debut, "DASH: Quantum Leap."
